Azure VM Sizes

Most of the time having more option makes us bit confuse in term of decision making.
While creating VM in Azure we have many configurational options available and we have to decide the correct one for our requirement. Let us have a look at VM sizing along with their use case.

General purpose :

Balanced CPU-to-memory. Ideal for dev / test and small to medium applications and data solutions.
Example: Dsv3, Dv3, DSv2, Dv2, DS, D, Av2, A0-7

Compute optimized :

High CPU-to-memory. Good for medium traffic applications, network appliances, and batch processes.
Example: Fs, F

Memory optimized :

High memory-to-core. Great for relational databases, medium to large caches, and in-memory analytics.
Example: Esv3, Ev3, M, GS, G, DSv2, DS, Dv2, D

Storage optimized :

High disk throughput and IO. Ideal for Big Data, SQL, and NoSQL databases.
Example: Ls

GPU :

Specialized VMs targeted for heavy graphic rendering and video editing.
Example: NV, NC

High performance :

Our most powerful CPU VMs with optional high-throughput network interfaces (RDMA).
Exaample: H, A8-11

Get-AzureRmVMSize is the command to  get available virtual machine sizes.
