Microsoft Azure Introduction.
Microsoft Azure Services.
Microsoft Azure vs Amazon Web Services.
WHAT IS CLOUD COMPUTING?
Cloud Computing means storing and accessing data on Internet instead of our Personal Computer’s hard Drive or any other Device. Cloud Computing Services gives user to access their Data anytime from anywhere on any device.
Amazon Web Services & Microsoft Azure are Two Major Company to provide Cloud Services Worldwide. Cloud computing is the architecture in which the host, virtual machines, virtual server, and brokers are involved in communication.
WHEN IT STARTED?
It started on commercial platform with AWS. Before Cloud Services was introduced to the market, people used to store their data in their Personal Computer system.
In 1960s DARPA (the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency) presented MIT with a project MAC. The idea of this project was to “computer to be used by two or more people, simultaneously.” In 1997, Professor Ramnath Chellapa of Emory University explained Cloud Computing as the new “computing paradigm.”
They used the idea of using the Internet to deliver software programs which could be accessed and downloaded by anyone with Internet access. In 2006, Amazon launched Amazon Web Services which offers online services to other websites, or clients as well as they provide a variety of Cloud-based services including storage.
On 1 February 2010 Microsoft Azure Platform was officially released. From the moment of commercially available to the world critics were harsh with their review especially in comparison with AWS. Microsoft improved Azure over the time by including lots of tools, services and wide range of programming languages, Frame Works, OS including Linux for the users.
The company named it to Windows Azure in the year 2014. As per the time they increased cloud capabilities by increasing support for open-source software. Later on, they changed their Logo along with a tagline: Azure. Cloud for all. Today, Microsoft Azure has an extremely large portfolio of cloud services in compaction with AWS.
WHO PROVIDE CLOUD COMPUTING SERVICES?
Top-9 who provide Cloud Computing platform:
1. Amazon Web Services 2. Microsoft Azure 3. Google Cloud Platform
4. IMB Cloud 5. Oracle 6. VMware
7. Salesforce 8. Alibaba 9. Hewlett Packard Enterprise
Microsoft Azure
Azure is a public cloud computing platform by
Microsoft Azure is designed to create and manage app through Microsoft’s data
centers. Cloud Computing and data storage is available on Azure platform. Azure can host Websites, manage data,
Database hosting, Virtualize Server and much more.
User can access their data from anywhere in
the world via internet with just one click. Azure provides 30 days of free
trial to use & explore their
services.
Azure lets you add
cloud capabilities to your existing network through its platform as a service
(PaaS) model. Azure's storage capabilities are also extremely reliable.
Azure is a public cloud computing platform including
Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS), and Software
as a Service (SaaS) that can be used for services such as analytics, virtual
computing, storage, networking, and much more.
Microsoft Azure Services:
Microsoft Azure provided variety of services in cloud computing to their customer. Storing and accessing data and website hosting with just few clicks with speed is possible. Because Microsoft Azure consists of vast service offerings, its use cases are extremely huge. Running virtual machines or containers in the cloud is one of the most popular uses for Microsoft Azure.
Azure is also commonly used as a platform for hosting databases in the cloud as well as websites. Microsoft offers server less database such as Azure SQL.
List of few Azure Services:
1. Azure Active Directory 2. Azure CDN 3. Azure SQL
4. Azure Data factory 5. Storage Account
Microsoft Azure vs Amazon Web Services.
To level-set this comparison, first know that the cloud market as a giant market. AWS is a Giant in Cloud Computing Platform. While Amazon specifies AWS revenue, Microsoft only reports on Azure’s growth rate. That number is 50% revenue growth over the last 6 month which is faster than the 46% growth analysts expected.
You may see headlines
touting that “Azure growth rates are slowing”, comparing those revenue growth
percentages in competition to AWS but However, the metric is of questionable
value as Azure continues to increase revenue at this enormous scale.
Microsoft
sees its cloud growth as main source to its success.
“Over a year into the pandemic, digital adoption curves
aren’t slowing down. They’re accelerating, and it’s just the beginning. We are
building the cloud for the next decade, expanding our addressable market and
innovating across every layer of the tech stack to help our customers be
resilient and transform.”
- CEO Satya Nadella.
